Personalised Supports Systems have created a space that is fun and relaxed while maintaining the highest professional standards and following best practice. We prioritise building an authentic and encouraging relationship with each participant to ensure they remain engaged in their services. Participants often tell us that coming to training is the highlight of their whole week!We pride ourselves on providing a service that stands out from the rest.We know that participants and families value open communication and collaboration, so we prioritise keeping everyone involved as up-to-date as possible.Personalised Support Systems provides Exercise Physiology services on site in our custom-built space.

Other services can be accessed through us and are provided by our extensive network of off-site practitioners. If you would like more information about accessing Dietitians, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, etc. please let us know.During your time with us we will complete an in-depth initial assessment, by listening to your story, we can understand how best to assist you on your journey. OUR Allied Health SERVICES

Exercise Physiology

Exercise Physiologists are master’s degree qualified allied health professionals. We use exercise prescription to assist individuals to increase their physical capacity and to better manage chronic health conditions.

An Exercise Physiologist is qualified to work with a wide range of health conditions and disabilities. We can help people with high levels of complexity and low levels of physical capacity to improve their quality of life.

At Personalised Support Systems we work hard on developing a good rapport with each participant. This relationship allows us to collaborate with participants and their families to create a meaningful and effective program. Participants feel motivated to keep working towards their goals when their sessions have a degree of fun and socialising mixed in with the clinical prescription that will help them reach their goals.

To ensure our participants are progressing toward their goals, we regularly track progress through specifically designed tests. The results from these tests help us to evaluate and adjust programs to ensure they are working for the benefit of everyone. This data is a vital component of supporting the renewal and application for your NDIS funding and plans.

THERAPY ASSITANCE

At Personalised Support Systems, Therapy Assistants work together with our Exercise Physiologists to deliver your specialised exercise program. The Exercise Physiologist will create a program with you, through assessment and consultation, and if you appropriate, our qualified Therapy Assistants will take you through the program – week to week.

Our therapy assistants are great at keeping participants motivated and safe while they work on their exercises.

Having Therapy Assistants take you through the program can be a great way to get a second session in any given week, or to reduce costs so your funding goes further.

This service may not be suitable for all participants.

To ensure the program remains up to date and in line with the participants goals, regular reviews will be booked with one of our Exercise Physiologists. A review is also required if anything changes in the participants circumstance or if their goals change.

GROUP PROGRAMS

Group exercise sessions are run with a ratio of 1:2, this ensures everyone receives a service that is safe and effective in meeting their goals. Group exercise sessions work well for individuals who enjoy socialising and have a good understanding of their own bodies and abilities. As well as receiving the benefit of exercise, group sessions can provide additional mental health and wellbeing improvements through positive socialisation.

Group exercise sessions are a great way to make funding go further. It is important to note that groups may not be appropriate for everyone. After your first consultation with the Exercise Physiologist, you will be provided with information about which services or combination of services will suit your goals best.

NDIS plans often have funds available to be allocated to Exercise Physiology.
If you are unsure if you have funding, we would be happy to help you over the phone or by bringing your plan to a meet and great.

How often participants see the Exercise Physiologist will vary. Funding, schedules, participant goals and capacity all impact the regularity of sessions.It is recommended that everyone get close to 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity each week. This could be made up of any combination of structured movements that works for you. Over the course of a few sessions, we will work with you to create and implement a holistic plan to increase activity levels.

The gym space is accessible to individuals with a range or disabilities. We have full wheelchair access with specific equipment to engage with individuals with mobility aids and electric wheel chairs.Our team adapts the environment to offer the right amount of stimulus for each participant.We also have ability to take sessions with participants with vision or hearing impairments. If you are concerned about accessibility, please arrange a time for us to discuss this with you further.
